Canadian Forces pilots will be able to take advantage of high-tech flight-simulator technology from Montreal’s CAE, Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced today.
"We want Canada’s men and women in uniform to have the best training and technology, and that training and technology can be found right here in Montreal," said the Prime Minister who joined Public Works and Government Services Minister Christian Paradis in a tour of CAE’s high-tech training facilities. "We are creating jobs today, re-investing in our cutting edge aerospace industry, and ensuring the Canadian Forces have the tools they need to defend Canadian priorities and interests for decades to come."
The Government of Canada has signed a contract with CAE to establish a world-class aircrew training capability for Canada’s new fleet C130J Hercules aircraft. Training capacity for additional aircraft may be added in the future based on the government’s future procurement decisions.
CAE Inc. will generate one dollar of economic activity in Canada for every dollar it receives from the contract with the majority of benefits flowing directly to the Canadian Aerospace and Defence sector.
