The two leaders discussed the current situation in the Middle East. Prime Minister Harper stated that "Canada deeply regrets this action, the loss of life and the injuries that have occurred. And obviously we'll be looking in the days that follow to get all the information we can get to find out exactly what has transpired here."
The two Prime Ministers also discussed a wide range of issues such as matters of the international economy and global security issues.
Prime Minister Harper reiterated Canada's position on the free market economy as well as the bilateral opportunities between our two countries for further cooperation on research, development and innovation.
Finally, Prime Minister Harper thanked the Israeli Prime Minister for coming to Canada, particularly how delightful it was for Prime Minister Harper and his wife Laureen to host Prime Minister Netanyahu and his wife Sara yesterday evening.
