The Prime Minister congratulated the President on the enthusiastic and productive presence of the Lebanese community in Canada. The Prime Minister and the President also discussed the Middle East peace process. The Prime Minister reiterated Canada's position: two states, Palestinian and Israeli, co-existing alongside each other, stable, democratic and peaceful.
The leaders also discussed the forthcoming summit on climate change. The Prime Minister said there needs to be a comprehensive agreement to make real progress on reducing climate change.
The Prime Minister congratulated the President on the excellent job the Lebanese did as hosts of the Francophonie Games in Beirut.
