Prime Minister Stephen Harper spoke with Prime Minister John Key of New Zealand today. On behalf of all Canadians, he offered his condolences on the loss of life and suffering caused by the devastating earthquake that struck the city of Christchurch, New Zealand on February 22 at 12:51 local time.
Prime Minister Harper assured Prime Minister Key that the thoughts and prayers of Canadians are with the people of New Zealand during this difficult time. Prime Minister Stephen Harper reiterated Canada’s offer to provide any assistance it can to help with New Zealand’s relief efforts.
