Readout on earthquake and tsunamis in Japan

Prime Minister Harper and his wife Laureen send their heartfelt condolences to the Japanese people. Their thoughts and prayers are with the friends and families who have lost their loved ones in the earthquake and tsunamis. Canada will stand by the people of Japan during this difficult moment.
We are liaising with authorities in the West Coast in order to carefully monitor tsunamis in the Pacific.
