Prime Minister Stephen Harper speaks with Premier Ed Stelmach

Earlier today, Prime Minister Harper called Alberta Premier Ed Stelmach to express concern and sympathy over the wildfires in Alberta and the situation in Slave Lake, AB. 

The Premier provided the Prime Minister with an overview of the provincial response to the fires.

The Premier acknowledged that the federal government has provided some assistance from the National Emergency Stockpile System, namely cots and blankets for evacuees and generators for health service trailers, and the Prime Minister indicated to Premier Stelmach that any additional federal resources which could be of assistance would be put at the province’s use.
