Prime Minister Stephen Harper spoke this afternoon to the Chairman of the Libyan National Transitional Council, Mustafa Abdul Jalil. They discussed the rapidly-evolving situation in Libya, where Canada is a key member of the UN-mandated, NATO-led mission to protect civilians. They expressed their satisfaction that the Gaddafi regime is collapsing and discussed at length the importance of ensuring law and order, and a smooth, just and effective transition to democracy in Libya.
