With the G-20 Cannes Summit just over a week away, Prime Minister Harper spoke this evening with the President of The Republic of Korea, Lee Myung-bak.

They discussed the urgent challenges to the world economy.  Both agreed that the Cannes Summit will take place at a critical juncture, where decisive action by all G-20 leaders is needed if another global recession is to be avoided.

They talked about the necessity to tackle immediate threats, in particular for Europe to deal with the Euro zone debt crisis.  They also discussed the critical importance of implementing measures to ensure exchange rate flexibility to promote strong, sustainable and balanced growth.
