Prime Minister Stephen Harper met today with Ian Khama, President of Botswana, on the margins of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Perth, Australia.
The two leaders, meeting bilaterally for the first time, reviewed recent developments in international peace and security, including the situation in Zimbabwe, and discussed their priorities for the Commonwealth summit that started today.
The two leaders also expressed their support for the Kimberley Process and touched briefly on the commercial relations between the two countries, particularly in the mining sector.
