Prime Minister Harper meets with President of Peru

Today, prior to the opening of the second day of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Meeting in Vladivostok, the Prime Minister Harper had the opportunity to speak with President Humala of Peru.  The two leaders last met in Cartegena, Colombia on the margins of the Summit of the Americas.

The two leaders used the opportunity to discuss two major regional trade and economic cooperation initiatives of mutual interest -- the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Pacific Alliance. 

The Leaders also exchanged views on how to broaden Canada-Peru relations including in areas like trade and investment, natural resources, and education.

The Prime Minister extended an invitation to President Humala to visit Canada at a mutally convenient time.
