Statement by the Prime Minister of Canada on Minister Keith Ashfield's return to Ottawa

Prime Minister Stephen Harper issued the following statement on Minister Keith Ashfield returning to Ottawa after recovering from bypass surgery:
"I am very pleased to welcome Minister Keith Ashfield back to Ottawa as he has made a full recovery and remains in good health. He will return to work this week as Minister of Fisheries and Oceans.
"In his absence, Gail Shea, Minister of National Revenue, has done an excellent job as Acting Minister of Fisheries and Oceans while maintaining her existing responsibilities. Because of her dedication and teamwork, Minister Ashfield will be able to quickly pick up where he left off.
"Thank you, Minister Shea, and welcome back Minister Ashfield."
