Prime Minister Stephen Harper today issued the following statement welcoming Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Canada:

"Canadians are eagerly anticipating the many opportunities for the public to meet Their Royal Highnesses throughout their Tour.

"I am sure that this Royal Tour will forge an enduring relationship between Canada and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – one of deep affection and loyalty as exemplified by Her Majesty The Queen since her first tour sixty years ago in 1951."
