Statement by the Prime Minister of Canada on Prince Edward Island election results

Ottawa, Ontario
Prime Minister Stephen Harper today issued the following statement following the results of the election in Prince Edward Island:

“On October 3, 2011, the people of Prince Edward Island re-elected Liberal Party leader Robert Ghiz to form their new provincial government.

“On behalf of the Government of Canada, I congratulate Premier Ghiz and his team on their victory.

“I look forward to working with them on promoting economic prosperity and addressing issues of importance to the people of Prince Edward Island and Canada.”
