“Today we mark a milestone in the existence of MADD Canada – an organization that has dedicated itself to eliminating impaired driving and the tragedies it causes, and to supporting victims of this violent crime.
“For 25 years now, volunteers of MADD Canada have been raising awareness of the destructive and often deadly consequences of driving while impaired. In so doing, they have succeeded in educating drivers of all ages, saving lives, and making our streets and communities safer.
“Today, the organization kicks off its 25th Project Red Ribbon campaign, where red ribbons will be handed out by MADD Canada volunteers and supporters over the next two months to raise awareness of the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
“I encourage all Canadians to join in efforts to help prevent impaired driving over the holiday season and during the rest of the year.”
