8:00 a.m. – Prime Minister Stephen Harper will attend and make brief remarks at the airport arrival of the Olympic Flame.

NOTES:

  • Media are required to present proper identification and press credentials to gain access.
  • Media registration is required to attend the airport arrival. No registrations will be accepted after 6:45 a.m.
  • A media registration tent will be set up at the main gate to the hangar and open at 6:00 a.m.
  • Satellite trucks must arrive between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Any satellite trucks arriving after 6:00 a.m. will not be given access to the event.

    9:20 a.m. – Prime Minister Stephen Harper will attend and make brief remarks at the Victoria Parliament Buildings Arrival Ceremony. The Ceremony is the beginning of the 106-day, 45,000-kilometre Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay.

    NOTE:

  • All media must register with VANOC. To register and pick up a media pass for the arrival ceremony and all subsequent Day 1 events, members of the media must show photo ID and press credentials on October 29 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Fairmont Empress Hotel (Buckingham room) located at 721 Government St. in Victoria, BC. Registration will also be available on October 30 starting at 7:00 a.m. at the media tent at the corner of Government and Belleville streets.
