“Our Government is committed to fully supporting Canadian Olympic athletes in their training and beyond,” said the Prime Minister. “I am pleased today to designate Canada Olympic House here in London which will help take care of our athletes and their families during the London games, allowing our Olympians to focus on their performance.”
Part of the Canadian High Commission in London, Canada House is a diplomatic and public educational space located on historic Trafalgar Square. During the 2012 Summer Games – from July 27 to August 12, 2012 – it will serve as the Canada Olympic House, which will provide Olympians with a place to meet with their family members and friends. The Olympic House will also serve as a key site for media events and a venue to celebrate the successes of the Canadian Olympic Team.
The Canada Olympic House is a key component of the Canadian Olympic Committee’s Family and Friends Program, which provides services and resources to family members and friends of Canadian Olympians.
"Two years ago in Vancouver Canada's Olympic athletes made all Canadians proud with their exceptional performances," said the Prime Minister. "This summer in London our athletes will once again go for gold and own the podium with all of Canada cheering them on. I wish them every success."
