Operation NANOOK 12 is a joint Royal Canadian Navy (RCN), Canadian Army and Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) operation, which works with other federal departments and provincial, territorial, regional and international partners, in order to provide a visible presence in the Arctic and demonstrate Canada’s ability to respond to emergencies in the region. It builds upon previous OP NANOOK operations conducted every summer since 2007, primarily in the eastern and high Arctic.
Taking place from August 1 to 26, 2012, the Operation includes the following interdepartmental and international partners, working under the authority of Canada Command and Joint Task Force (North):
