Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met today with President Barack Obama of the United States on the margins of the APEC Summit in Manila.

They discussed the deep and enduring bonds that exist between their two countries and emphasized areas for strengthened collaboration, including on energy and climate change. They also discussed a number of important bilateral and international issues, such as trade and security, including the fight against ISIL and the situation in Ukraine.

The two leaders agreed to engage in regular dialogue on the many and varied interests shared by Canada and the United States.
