Prime Minister Justin Trudeau meets with Prime Minister Dacian Cioloș of Romania

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met today with Romanian Prime Minister Dacian Cioloș in Ottawa.

The leaders discussed the importance of their partnership in NATO, including the upcoming NATO Leaders’ Summit in Warsaw on July 8-9, 2016.  The two held exchanges on our shared international interest in such fora as La Francophonie, regional security, bilateral commercial relations, and discussed progress being made on Canada’s visa requirement on Romanian travellers. 

Prime Minister Trudeau and Prime Minister Cioloș also reaffirmed their strong support for the timely ratification of the Canada and European Union (EU) Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), which will provide significant benefits and opportunities to both countries once ratified.
