The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, met today with Emmanuel Macron, President of France, on the margins of the G20 Summit in Hamburg.

The two leaders held exchanges on international security, including on countering radicalization, the coalition against Daesh, as well as the situation in Syria, Mali and Ukraine. The leaders reiterated their full commitment to combating climate change and implementing the Paris Agreement.

Both leaders also reaffirmed the importance of promoting inclusive growth and increasing bilateral trade, including through the timely ratification of the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement.
