The Honourable Kody Blois was first elected as the Member of Parliament for Kings—Hants in 2019.

Minister Blois has previously served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Rural Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency. He has also served on various parliamentary committees, including the Standing Committee on Public Accounts and as Chair of the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food. Additionally, he is a member of the Executive of the Canada-United Kingdom Inter-Parliamentary Association and of the Canadian Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.

Minister Blois is a proud advocate for rural Canada and has consistently championed policies in Parliament that positively impact rural communities across the country. A firm believer in the importance of hard work, caring for others, and strengthening the middle class, he welcomes the opportunity to serve in a role dedicated to rural economic growth across the country, including in his home region of Atlantic Canada.

Before entering politics, Minister Blois practised as a lawyer and was heavily involved in sport. As a former competitive hockey player at the collegiate level, he has actively given back to his community by coaching minor hockey and softball, and by establishing the East Hants Sport Heritage Society and the Come Home East Hants Association.

Minister Blois takes pride in being the first member of his family to obtain a university degree. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Mary’s University as well as a Master of Management in Public Administration and a Juris Doctor, both from Dalhousie University. He lives in Hants County with his wife, Kimberly, and their Bernese mountain dog, Louis.
