He reiterated that the Government of Canada will support British Columbians with any federal resources required, from short-term assistance – such as providing air support – to long-term rebuilding efforts. The Prime Minister and the Premier agreed that extreme weather events such as these demonstrate the need to raise ambition in the fight against climate change.
Prime Minister Trudeau and Premier Horgan also discussed other shared priorities, including health care and reconciliation with Indigenous peoples. They agreed to stay in touch.
