Yesterday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with the President of Kenya, William Ruto, on the margins of the Summit on Peace in Ukraine in Lucerne, Switzerland.
Prime Minister Trudeau and President Ruto discussed the ongoing crisis in Haiti. They considered progress on the deployment of the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSSM) and explored further bilateral co-operation on the restoration of stability in Haiti. Prime Minister Trudeau expressed gratitude for Kenya’s leadership and reiterated Canada’s commitment to support Haiti at this time of crisis and beyond.
The two leaders committed to strengthening the bilateral relationship between Canada and Kenya.
Prime Minister Trudeau and President Ruto agreed to remain in contact and looked forward to continuing their co-operation.
