The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement on the results of the provincial election in Newfoundland and Labrador:

“Newfoundlanders and Labradorians have chosen to elect a government led by the Liberal Party of Newfoundland and Labrador.

“As we mark the 70th anniversary of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Confederation with Canada, I look forward to continue working with the provincial government. Together, through partnerships like the Atlantic Growth Strategy and the renewed Atlantic Accord, we will continue to create good, middle class jobs and grow the province’s economy, while protecting the environment and combatting climate change.”
