Prime Minister Trudeau's message on Paramedic Services Week
Hello everyone.
This week, we celebrate and thank paramedics across Canada for the work they do to keep us safe and healthy.
And this year, their work has been more important than ever.
Paramedics have been on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
They’ve had to be resourceful to help fight this crisis, they’ve put themselves at risk to help keep us safe and healthy,
and they’ve shown incredible strength and resilience.
They’ve had our backs in this fight, and we need to continue to have theirs.
That means continuing to do whatever it takes to make sure they have the supplies and equipment they need to stay safe.
It also means wearing a mask, washing our hands frequently, staying home as often as possible, downloading and using the COVID Alert app, and getting your vaccine as soon as it’s your turn.
Because we all have a role to play in keeping our healthcare workers safe and healthy while we fight this pandemic.
To all of Canada’s paramedics: thank you for your hard work, your perseverance, and your courage.
As a country, we are so grateful.
And together, we will finish the fight against COVID-19, and build back better for everyone.
Happy Paramedic Services Week.
Stay safe and healthy, everyone.
