PM Trudeau holds a joint press conference with Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard
Thank you very much, Mr. Premier. First, it was a real pleasure for me to be here today at the National Assembly and to meet with the premier to talk about a broad range of issues and really to launch a new era of collaboration and cooperation between Ottawa and Quebec City. I am very proud to have had Quebecers’ support to elect a majority of Quebec MPs to sit in Ottawa as part of the government. As you heard, we obviously touched on a great many issues. I won’t list them all now, but it was a working meeting where each step of the way featured frank and open exchanges, but in a collaborative spirit, on a good many issues. And we will continue to have regular exchanges on a broad range of issues that touch not just Quebecers but all Canadians, because Quebec must remain a major actor in Canada’s future.
I look forward to a continued relationship based on openness, dialogue, and engagement in the months and years to come. And with this partnership and this working friendship that we have, we’re off to a very good start.
