Statement by Prime Minister Trudeau in celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival
Today, Canadians of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese heritage will celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival.
The festival is a time to celebrate the harvest, and give thanks for the year’s successes.
To mark this joyous occasion, families and loved ones get together, light colorful lanterns, share traditional mooncakes, exchange greetings and gifts, and admire the spectacular beauty of the full moon.
This celebration serves as a reminder of the rich and vibrant diversity that is at the core of our country’s identity.
On behalf of our family, Sophie and I offer our best wishes to everyone celebrating today.
