The Honourable Larry Landry was appointed to the Court of King’s Bench of New Brunswick in 2015.
Prior to his appointment to the Bench, Associate Chief Justice Landry had been practising as Larry Landry C.P. Inc. since 2007. He practised civil litigation, municipal law, criminal law, family law, and corporate law with Mclntyre, Kierstead & Landry from 1992 to 2007.
Associate Chief Justice Landry was previously chairman of the New Brunswick Review Board (Criminal Code of Canada), and a member of the Education Committee of the Canadian Bar Association, New Brunswick Division. He is a past vice-president and board member of I’Association des juristes d’expression française du Nouveau-Brunswick. He was also chairperson and one of the founders of a francophone community radio in his home place, Radio Restigouche. As a journalist, he wrote for various newspapers, including l’Acadie Nouvelle and La Presse.
Associate Chief Justice Landry received Bachelors of Arts (Communications) and of Laws from the Université de Moncton in 1991. He was admitted to the Bar of New Brunswick in 1992 and was appointed King’s Counsel in 2014.
Raised in the small Acadian village of Balmoral, New Brunswick, he is the proud father of one adult son, Zacharie, with whom he shares a passion for cinema, culture, and the Montréal Canadiens.
