Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Canada’s unwavering support for Ukraine as it fights to repel Russia’s latest attacks.
The leaders discussed the upcoming Summit on Peace in Ukraine, to be held on June 15-16, 2024, in Switzerland. The Prime Minister noted that he looked forward to attending and further supporting President Zelenskyy’s efforts in working toward a just and sustainable peace, including through Canada’s co-leadership of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children.
The Prime Minister and the President further exchanged on engagement with other countries also contending with the global impacts of Russia’s brutal and illegal invasion.
Prime Minister Trudeau and President Zelenskyy reaffirmed their intention to remain in close and regular contact.
