Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister to discuss shared priorities. The Prime Minister extended his best wishes to the Premier as we celebrate Manitoba’s 150th anniversary.

The Prime Minister and the Premier discussed the environmental assessment process of the Lake Manitoba and Lake St. Martin Outlet Channels Project, and agreed to continue to work collaboratively to advance this important initiative. They also exchanged views on health care, the environment, the fight against climate change, public safety, and reconciliation.

The Prime Minister and the Premier agreed that collaboration between all orders of government is important to improve public safety for Manitobans and all Canadians.

They agreed to continue to work collaboratively to advance these shared priorities, and looked forward to the next First Ministers’ Meeting.
