Marco Mendicino is the Member of Parliament for the riding of Eglinton-Lawrence. A lawyer and family man, Mr. Mendicino has dedicated his career to keeping our communities safe. As a federal prosecutor for nearly a decade, he fought against organized crime and terrorism. Mr. Mendicino was also the president of a national association representing nearly 3,000 federal prosecutors and Government of Canada lawyers. While in this position, he testified before the House of Commons and Senate to advocate for better laws and access to justice.
An avid community organizer, Mr. Mendicino is committed to improving education and has worked on local school initiatives, such as rolling out lunch programs for full-day kindergarten and improving outdoor facilities. He dedicated his time to the John Wanless Childcare Centre, North Toronto Soccer Club and COSTI Immigration Services – an organization that helps immigrants acquire the educational, social and economic skills they need on arriving in Canada.
Prior to being elected a Member of Parliament, Mr. Mendicino ran his own law practice, focusing on regulatory, and labour and employment matters. He was an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School, a small business owner and a soccer coach to his daughters’ teams.
Mr. Mendicino has served as a Parliamentary Secretary since 2017, and is currently the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Infrastructure and Communities.
