Vance Badawey was first elected as the Member of Parliament for Niagara Centre in 2015. He previously served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Indigenous Services.

Mr. Badawey has also served as the Chair of the House Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, and Vice-Chair of the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group, where he focused on protecting the environmental, economic, and social sustainability of the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence River. He was also a member of various other committees, parliamentary associations, and interparliamentary groups.

Born and raised in Port Colborne, Mr. Badawey spent more than 35 years in the private sector, including as the fourth-generation operator of the family’s business, Badawey Marine Ltd. He also founded Vance Badawey & Associates Inc., a consulting firm that worked with the public and private sectors to establish and implement corporate strategies.

Mr. Badawey began his career in public service as a city councillor for the City of Port Colborne in 1994, before serving as Mayor for four terms between 1997 and 2003, and then between 2006 and 2014. During this time, he served on numerous local, provincial, national, and bi-national agencies, boards, and commissions, including the Niagara Regional Council and the Regional Municipality of Niagara Police Services Board.

Mr. Badawey has been a volunteer with the Port Colborne Kinsmen Club, the United Way, and the Knights of Columbus. He also coached youth hockey and soccer.

A member of the Métis Nation, Mr. Badawey lives in Port Colborne with his wife, Leanna. They share two daughters, Logan and Jordan, two sons, Tyler and Jake, and two grandchildren, Hudson and Harper.
