Prime Minister tables the Thirty-First Annual Report on the Public Service of Canada in the House of Commons
Prime Minister to hold Cabinet retreat and move forward to deliver fairness for every generation
The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today announced that he will hold a Cabinet retreat in Halifax, Nova Scotia, from August 25 to 27, 2024.
The retreat will focus on the federal government’s work to strengthen the middle class, grow the economy, and deliver fairness for every generation.
Cabinet will take action on the top-of-mind priorities of Canadians. This includes bringing down the cost of living, building more homes, investing in health care, making dental care and essential medications more affordable, and taking climate action.

The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today announced a change to the Ministry:
- Steven MacKinnon becomes Minister of Labour and Seniors.
In his previous role as Leader of the Government in the House of Commons, Minister MacKinnon accumulated a wealth of experience building consensus and working with partners to pass legislation. He has advanced progress on health care, affordable housing, organized labour, and climate action – and has steered the government’s work to make life better for Canadians.
