Prime Minister Trudeau holds a press conference at the National Press Theatre
Thank you, Manon.
It’s a pleasure to be back here. As you know, in the next few days, several of you will be leaving with me to attend two major international summits. First, the G-20 in Turkey and then APEC in the Philippines.
The key message that I want to share with my international counterparts during the summits is investment. It is the need to invest to grow the economy for the middle class, to create economic growth around the world.
We need to create jobs and grow the economy together, and we will talk about investment strategies in the same way as I did during the recent election campaign.
In the coming days I will be attending two significant international summits. The first, the G-20 in Turkey and the second, the APEC Conference in the Philippines. The topic at both of them will be around inclusive growth. I’ll be talking about the fact that in order to create more global growth, particularly in support of the middle class around the globe, we need to be investing in our country’s future, we need to be investing in the kinds of opportunities that are going to allow us to grow and continue to flourish as nations.
That’s going to be at the centre of my discussions with my colleagues around the world.
