Prime Minister Trudeau delivers a message to mark the Mid-Autumn Festival
Hello everyone!
Today, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, and Japanese communities – in Canada and around the world – will celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.
It’s a time to gather with family and friends, give thanks for the harvest and the year’s successes, and celebrate the full moon with lanterns, mooncakes, and songpyeon.
As we mark the 150th anniversary of Confederation, it’s also a chance to appreciate the many cultures and communities that make Canada such a great place to live.
Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, and Japanese Canadians make major contributions to our country, and continue to make Canada strong, inclusive, and prosperous.
As we mark the Mid-Autumn Festival, let’s appreciate the blessings of the season, and celebrate what brings us together.
On behalf of our family, Sophie and I wish everyone a very happy Moon Festival.
