Prime Minister Trudeau's message on Easter
Hello everyone, and happy Easter!
Today, my family will join Christians around the world to commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Many Canadians take this time to go to church, spend time with family and friends, and hunt for Easter eggs with the little ones.
As the holiest day in the Christian calendar, Easter is not only about the traditions we hold dear, it’s also about reflecting on the values that Jesus Christ lived, taught, and shared.
Values of love, kindness, forgiveness.
And Canadians of Christian faith strive to live out these values all year long.
Whether you help seniors and new immigrants in your community, donate to causes close to your heart, or look out for those in need – I want to say thank you.
You are showing us all what it means to love our neighbours as ourselves.
And you’re helping us build a better future for everyone.
Once again, from my family to yours, I wish everyone celebrating a very happy Easter.
