Prime Minister Trudeau's message on Eid al-Adha
Hello everyone. Assalamualaikum.
Today, Muslims in Canada and around the world will celebrate Eid al Adha.
As one of the holiest days in Islam, Eid al-Adha takes place at the end of the Hajj and is marked by time spent in prayer, with family and friends.
The values at the heart of Eid al-Adha – like sacrifice and giving – are also values at the heart of Islam.
Across the country, Muslim Canadians are stepping up for their communities.
Whether it’s volunteering at organizations that support people in need, extending a hand to help your neighbours, or standing up for causes you believe in, Canada is stronger because of you and the contributions you make.
I hope you enjoy this sacred holiday and can celebrate your traditions with your loved ones.
From my family to yours, Sophie and I wish you a wonderful Eid al-Adha.
Eid Mubarak!
