Ottawa, Ontario - February 1, 2016

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke today with Prime Minister David Cameron of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in advance of the Supporting Syria and the Region conference to be held in London on February 4th.

The leaders discussed the need for all countries to contribute to development and humanitarian assistance in the context of the Syrian crisis. The Minister of International Development, Marie-Claude Bibeau, will represent Canada at the conference. 

The prime ministers concluded by agreeing to continue to engage in regular dialogue on shared interests, including the need to move forward on the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement.
