The Prime Minister announces changes in the senior ranks of the Public Service

The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today announced the following changes in the senior ranks of the Public Service:

Malcolm Brown, currently Special Advisor to the Clerk of the Privy Council on the Syrian Refugee Initiative, becomes Deputy Minister of Public Safety, effective April 4, 2016.

Jean-François Tremblay, currently Deputy Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, becomes Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, effective
March 14, 2016.

Michael Keenan, currently Associate Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, becomes Deputy Minister of Transport, effective March 14, 2016.

Hélène Laurendeau, currently Associate Deputy Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs, becomes Deputy Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs, effective April 4, 2016.

Peter Boehm, currently Senior Associate Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, becomes Deputy Minister of International Development, effective immediately.

Diane Jacovella, currently Assistant Deputy Minister, Global Issues and Development, Global Affairs Canada, becomes Associate Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, effective March 14, 2016.

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to François Guimont, Deputy Minister of Public Safety and Colleen Swords, Deputy Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs on the occasion of their retirements, for their many distinguished accomplishments over the course of their careers and noted their dedication and commitment in serving Canadians.
