Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke today with Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, President of Peru.

The leaders discussed the rapidly deteriorating situation in Venezuela and reiterated their call on the Venezuelan Government to restore the constitutional order.  The Prime Minister and President Kuczynski ‎stressed the need for dialogue and respect for the democratic rights of Venezuelan citizens, as enshrined in the charter of the Organization of American States and the Inter-American Democratic Charter, and agreed to continue their dialogue on this issue of shared concern in the hemisphere.
