Brussels, Belgium - May 25, 2017

On the margins of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Leaders' Meeting, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with Jens Stoltenberg, NATO's Secretary General. 

The two leaders discussed issues related to Euro-Atlantic security, including burden sharing and NATO's role in counter-terrorism.

The Secretary General thanked Canada for its concrete contributions to the Alliance, including in addressing the issue of sexual and gender-based violence in armed conflict and in leading a multinational battlegroup deploying to Latvia as part of NATO's enhance Forward Presence.
