Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke today with Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany.

The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to multilateralism, combating climate change, strengthening environmental protection, as well as pursuing clean energy and sustainable development.  

Prime Minister Trudeau and Chancellor Merkel agreed to continue working closely with likeminded partners to implement the historic Paris Agreement on climate change.

The leaders also discussed the upcoming G20 Summit which Chancellor Merkel will be hosting in July.
