On the margins of his participation at the National Governors Association meeting, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met today with Kim Reynolds, Governor of Iowa.
The Prime Minister and the Governor discussed a range of Canada-Iowa issues, including renewable energy, the shared importance of the North American Free Trade Agreement and the benefit trade brings to both Canada and Iowa – including agriculture, aircraft parts, steel and aluminum.
Canada-Iowa bilateral trade was valued at US$5.9 billion in 2016, supporting over 100,000 jobs in the state.
