Prime Minister Justin Trudeau meets with United States Vice President Mike Pence

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met today with United States Vice President Mike Pence on the margins of the National Governors Association Summer Meeting.

The Prime Minister and the Vice President discussed the strong relationship between Canada and the United States, and the importance of collaborating on  a range of issues, including regional trade, and security and defence.

The Prime Minister and the Vice President also discussed the shared importance of the North American Free Trade Agreement to each country and the mutual economic benefit trade brings to all partners. Bilateral Canada-United States trade in 2016 was valued at nearly $882 billion.
