Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met today with the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern, on the margins of the 31st ASEAN Summit in Manila. 

The two leaders discussed regional cooperation in ASEAN, the next steps on the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership, as well as promoting an open and progressive trade agenda. 

The two prime ministers also exchanged views on advancing feminist international foreign policy objectives, regional security, climate change and oceans protection, policies that benefit the middle class and people working hard to join it, and Indigenous cooperation.
