Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke today with President Emmanuel Macron of France.
The Prime Minister and President discussed bilateral cooperation on multilateral environmental issues, and the Prime Minister commended the convening of the upcoming One Planet Summit on climate change in Paris on December 12, 2017. They also discussed the implementation of the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and the importance of progressive trade.
Both leaders undertook to continue their close cooperation with respect to the G7 summits, which Prime Minister Trudeau will host in 2018 in Charlevoix and which President Macron will host in 2019.
Prime Minister Trudeau and President Macron also discussed consular matters.
