Today, the Prime Minister called the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern.

Prime Minister Trudeau passed on his best wishes to Prime Minister Ardern and her partner on their recent announcement that they are expecting their first child in June.

The Prime Ministers also welcomed the conclusion of discussions in Tokyo, Japan, of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). Prime Minister Trudeau expressed his appreciation to Prime Minister Ardern for the collaboration between Canada and New Zealand during the negotiations with a view to promoting a progressive trade agenda.

The leaders undertook to continue their close work together.
