Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with the Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe. The two leaders welcomed the upcoming signing of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), in Santiago, Chile, on March 8, and welcomed the new jobs and opportunities for the middle class that the Agreement stands to create. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to open and inclusive trade.
The two prime ministers discussed recent developments on the Korean Peninsula. They also discussed their expectations for the upcoming G7 Summit in Charlevoix, Quebec.
