Today, the Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, spoke with Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, to discuss cooperation with respect to international crises as well as recent developments related to global steel and aluminum trade.

The Prime Minister and the Chancellor shared their mutual concern regarding the poisonings by nerve agent in the United Kingdom and reiterated the importance of NATO members’ solidarity on this matter.

They emphasized the importance of the multilateral trading system, and the need to preserve and uphold a rules-based approach to international trade.
