Today, the Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, spoke with the President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump.

The leaders discussed measures taken by Canada and the United States to support our common ally against Russia in response to the egregious nerve agent attack in Salisbury, United Kingdom.

The Prime Minister and President also discussed a range of Canada-United States issues. The Prime Minister underscored Canada’s commitment to conclude a modern, mutually beneficial NAFTA as soon as possible. The Prime Minister also raised the strong measures Canada is taking to address unfair trade in steel and aluminum.

The Prime Minister and the President undertook to remain in close contact on these matters.
